What is this:
Snipe-IT was made for IT asset management. This current version of SAM has been heavily customized to organize and track users, equipment deployment, accessories purchases and computer upgrades completed- and other asset activity.
Here is a list of what SAM @ Fraser Direct keeps track of:
-Users
-FOBS: Fob lookup, Fob deployment history (still WIP)
-Computer/Workstations and who they are assigned to
-Computer Names: Helps from remote support (via VNC) knowing what computer is assigned to what user
-Motorola handhelds tracking: Which location units are assigned to
-Accessories and other equipment assigned to computers/workstations
-Computer Upgrades: Component ordering tracking
-Accessory purchases (.e. USB hubs, power bars, other accessory requests
-Asset Maintenance Reporting: Printers/handhelds sent out for repair; cost of maintenance; Asset maintenance time (how long out of service)
-Activity Report: Keeps track of who made any changes, additions or deletions to SAM
-License Tracking (i.e. MS Office, Adobe Standard, MS Windows, other custom/3rd-party software
-Printer Consumables (i.e. toner, drum/imaging replacement) - [Still WIP?]
-Recycling tracking: Any asset that has reached EOL (end-of-life), damaged beyond repair, or deemed obsolete
